The neighborhood's annual street festival โ live music, local vendors, food, and the whole community out on the streets together. One of the best days of the year in 5 Points.
Details on InstagramOver 120 regional artists set up on the mountain for the weekend. Sculpture, painting, ceramics, jewelry. One of Huntsville's best-loved events โ the setting alone is worth going.
montesanoartfestival.comThe summer concert series kicks off at the Land Trust's limestone quarry venue. Live music, fireflies, and the best acoustics you'll find in any outdoor venue in Alabama. Shows sell out fast.

New + noteworthy
A neighborhood-scale wine bar with a small plates menu is expected to open in the old corner retail space on Pratt this summer. Natural wines, local charcuterie, and porch seating โ exactly the kind of thing 5 Points has been missing. Cara's watching this one closely.
1892 East wrapped up their outdoor patio expansion in April. The new space adds 20 covers along the side of the building with string lights and landscaping. It's already one of the best places to sit in the neighborhood on a warm evening.
The Land Trust announced the acquisition of 40 more acres on the southeast slope of Monte Sano in March, protecting additional trailhead access and forest buffer. Trail additions are expected by late 2026.
Word is a new boutique yoga and pilates concept is taking space near the Clinton Ave retail strip this fall. No official announcement yet โ I'm tracking it. If it opens, it'll be a welcome addition to the neighborhood wellness scene.

What I see watching this market: 5 Points has historically been one of the most resilient pockets in Huntsville โ there's a finite number of homes here and demand consistently outpaces supply. Inventory has been tight for a while. None of this is advice; it's just what the data has been saying.

Development watch
The second phase of the Clinton Row mixed-use development broke ground in Q1 2026. Expected to add retail at street level with residential above โ walkable from 5 Points and likely to add options to the neighborhood's dining scene when complete.
As a National Register district, 5 Points has design guidelines that apply to visible exterior changes. The rules protect the character of the neighborhood โ but they also affect renovation timelines and approvals. Worth knowing if you're buying with major renovation plans in mind.
The City of Huntsville has proposed improvements to the Bankhead Parkway corridor between 5 Points and the Oak Park trailhead โ better crossings, improved signage, and a dedicated bike/pedestrian lane. In planning stages with funding secured for Phase 1.
I monitor development news closely. If something is happening that affects the neighborhood, it'll show up here. Questions? Find me at pop.store/5pointscara.
